Caravans & Baches

What's needed in a gluggy, gloomy winter is a getaway, preferably by the sea. Three of us drove down to Cook's Beach, escaping a muddy Auckland to clear blue skies and a blissful weekend of childless decadence, which basically meant lying around in pyjamas by the fire, red wine, reading rubbishy magazines and constant grazing from little bowls filled with snacks. I spent time trotting around the nearly deserted neighbourhood taking snaps for my collection of bach and caravan photos, and as usual had fantasies of running away to live by the beach. One day, maybe (just need a spare half million or so, sigh)...

The first time we went down to the beach, that caravan was pink. It's been painted some time over the last year..and I'm DYING to get inside!
