Holiday Slug

Over the past week I've been taking part in a daily drawing challenge (#illo_advent) on Twitter. It keeps me practicing instead of eating all the Christmas shortbread that has found its way into the house. Sort of! Are you prepared for Christmas? I'm not. After reading this column about the difference between holiday go-getters and holiday slugs, I can confirm that I am indeed the latter. Full of good intentions but very slow to take action and always running late, especially with Christmas cards and trees. Lalala...

Oh, thank you for that link! I laughed to tears while reading it! Actually I haven't thought about what kind of a "holiday" person I am, but around Christmas in my mind always appears the wonderful "Fir tree" story by Tove Jansson (in "Tales from the Moominvalley")...
Well, I'm something in -between a go-getter and a holiday slug. Trying every year to be ready earlier than habitually, that means earlier than Christmas Eve.:) The point is that I don't want to mix saying farewell to autumn and making decorations, while there're still yellow leaves on the trees and I haven't put yet the boots on my feet... Thus my festive emotions are not natural and strong and I'm afraid they may fade in no time...
Your drawing is wonderful !!
P.S. I plan to decorate our apartment around the middle of the week...:D
